Invitation

An Indian-born, self-represented artist from Moscow, Russia. Currently involved in the artist in residence program at Tvak residential art studios, Greg’s work is based on his impressions of revisiting India after living it at an early age.

He has a vision of India as a giant ancient mechanism (viman) of incomprehensible advanced technology based on faith and magic which is slowly coming to life as men and women are kept preoccupied with matters of their daily routine.

About His Work :

I, like good double agent, keeping a straight face, deliver to you what I invent and announce as non-conceptual art, while keeping my fingers crossed behind my back. I do so out of curiosity for your reaction and for fun, because I like to challenge impossible tasks and because I must do it regardless of purpose. While this work is for the large part a semi-figurative reflection of my first impressions and resulting fantasy inspired by what I've seen in Gujarat during my stay, my long term focus is exploring ways of creating art that is detached from worldly matters and perceived reality,  Such as my ongoing work for the "Sunyata" series of abstract paintings and the "Subconscious refuge series.
