Recreating the garden of the Thousand Buddhas : curated exhibition by Deviba Wala

The Garden of the Thousand Buddhas

Call for Artists

Curated exhibition by Deviba Wala

The himalayas are charged with a certain energy.
Small quaint monasteries and chants rising up in the air,
the walls and gardens with images of the buddha in his many forms in the light of the flickering oil lamps.
these are images and feelings I carry in my heart.

There are stories. one favourite one is of a garden that exists at Dharmacakra.
where statues of a thousand buddhas line the garden signifying a journey that brings us closer to enlightenment, Joy, Wisdom, and the path of Compassion.

we invite artists to interpret this concept in their own way and submit artworks.
The exhibition will be a Recreation of  the garden

Jeet s interpretation of Deviba Wala's Work

Like the Sea :
Ever changing never stopping. All the seasons that one experiences. Cold, rainy and summery hot too often all in a sense of time that which falls differently than the normal. The eyes as deep as unimaginable bottom of the sea that one always seeks to explore and yet so sightful that which only a few humans would ever understand. To be able to look in the eyes and know and not say anything. To be able to be with and know when not to be. And it is just like the sea and i only am a mere little boat trying to sail along. You are always going to be there.

- Jeet Pandya

this was a site specific work by Deviba and made for the sanskriti art festival "Goddess of the sea"
